‘Ayurveda as per Scriptures has discussed causes of diseases, the effects of those causes on the physical body, remedies to be performed to alleviate those effects, the constitution of the patient, his lifestyle, his immunity and an indepth study of other parameters after which the appropriate medicine is administered. Only Ayurvedic physicians can give this treatment. However in the absence of an Ayurvedic physician to give atleast symptomatic relief tradition has provided the beautiful facility of home remedies. They are easy to use and generally are not harmful. Even if side-effects occur they are not as intense as with allopathic medicines. Hence after falling ill instead of immediately taking allopathic medicines first try home remedies. Generally the effects and side-effects of a medicine are perceived within 24 hours however if it is rather difficult to understand subtle effects of the medicine then continue them for 3 more days. If even after 3 days it is still not perceived then continue it for a maximum of 7 days. If even after 7 days there is no benefit then stop it. However if during the intake side-effects are observed then stop them at once.’

Allopathy has no standing beside Ayurveda
Allopathy | Ayurveda | |
1. History | 200-300 years | Since times immemorial |
2. Subject is timebound or not | It is timebound because after some time you realise that it is not appropriate | Never time bound because the eternal science is encompassed in it |
3. Need for research | Continuous research is necessary | As it is absolute research is not required |
4. Cause for the illness | Mostly only temporary and limited causes are considered | Besides place, time, season, constitution even past birth causes are considered in depth |
5. Method of diagnosis | Dependent on instruments, gadgets and investigations | As diagnosis is made with an accurate and indepth examination of the pulse it is independent of external objects |
6. Medicines and their side-effects | Artificial, expensive and can give severe side-effects | Natural, very cheap, if taken appropriately they do not cause side-effects |
7. Nature of path of medicine | Commercial | Service and one of the paths to God realisation |
8. Spiritual support | Absent | Present |
9. Use of the science as a lifestyle | Not possible | Since in Hindu Dharma all practices are in keeping with Ayurveda for thousands of years it itself is a Hindu lifestyle |
The table above will make it clear why Ayurveda will be given preference in the Hindu nation.

The easiest way to remain healthy :
Measures to be adopted for a healthy living
If at least the following three things are done then health remains excellent and work potential increases
A. Wake up between 3 and 5 a.m.
At this time the lungs are more active. By waking up at this time the entire body receives oxygen in large quantities. As the activity of apan vayu (vital energy) begins the process of defaecation occurs spontaneously.
B. Eat lunch between 9 and
11 a.m. and dinner between 5 and 7 p.m.
Our digestive ability is dependent on the state of the sun. If food is consumed at these timings digestion occurs smoothly.
C. Go to bed between 9 and 11 p.m.
An hour of sleep before midnight is equivalent to two hours of sleep taken at others times. During this time sleep is peaceful and sound. If all these three things are done appropriately then there is no need to’observe any other specific restrictions.

Follow Ayurveda and be proud of Hindu culture
Medicinal plants such as tulsi, aloe vera etc can be grown in your courtyard and in your balcony with ornamental pots. These plants as well as common spices used in cooking such as coriander seeds, cumin seeds, ajwain seeds are of use in fever, cough, stomachache etc. Why take expensive allopathic medicines for such simple illnesses ? As most factories producing these medicines are abroad the money from these medicines goes to foreign countries. Following Ayurveda preached by Sages, buying products manufactured only in the country and being proud of Hindu culture is the duty of each and everyone of us.

Allopathy prescribes same medicines
to all without considering vata (wind), pitta (bile)
and kapha (phlegm) in the constitution of an individual !
In Ayurveda the same medicine is not prescribed for all patients with the same ailment. Instead the medicines vary based on the proportion of vata, pitta and kapha in the body of the patient. This prevents side-effects of the medicine and also the desired effect is achieved. On the contrary as Allopathy does not consider these parameters all patients with the same ailment are treated with the same medicines. This shows how in comparison with Ayurveda Allopathy is akin to kindergarten.
