Shri Mahaswamiji’s 50th birth anniversary
celebrated in Mumbai in a devotion filled atmosphere
Mumbai, December 16, 2017 (news) – The fiftieth birthday of Shri Maharajswamiji was celebrated at the Hariharputra Bhajan Samaj temple at Chembur from December 3 to 11, 2017 with great devotion and enthusiasm. Shri Jagadguru Badri Shankaracharya Shri Vidyabhinav Shri Shri Krishnanandtirtha Mahaswamiji was offered floral garlands and abhishek (consecration) with gold coins was performed. Mr. Abhay Vartak represented Sanatan Sanstha at this auspicious event. He offered flowers at the Holy feet of Shri Mahaswamiji in gratitude and gifted Him Sanatan’s Holy text titled ‘Dharmashikshan flexboards’. Chief advisor to the organising committee for the celebration, Mr. M. Chandramouliswaran, a Supreme Court lawyer Mrs. Vijaylakshmi Venkatramani, Abhay Vartak of Santan Sanstha and Mumbai District Co-ordinator for Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Mr. Sagar Chopdar attended the function.
Shri Mahaswamiji praised the mission carried out by Sanatan Sanstha. He said that the Sanstha was striving bravely for protection of Dharma and that the spiritual emotion of surrender and faith of its seekers is indeed worthy of appreciation. He further stated that His blessings were with the Sanstha and that He reads the Kannada edition of Sanatan Prabhat regularly. He appreciated that despite being attacked on all fronts, the Sanstha is carrying out its mission relentlessly. He promised to pay a visit to its Ramnathi Ashram in Goa.

Full information on Shri Jagadguru Badri Shankaracharya Sansthan Shakatpuram Vidyapeeth is available on historical records of Vijaynagar state for the period from the 14th to 16th century. Around 1338 due to foreign invasion Jagadguru Shri Satyateerth Mahmuni was searching for a place away from Badrinath to be able to perform spiritual practice and to be able to propagate Spirituality, and landed in the south. He chose Shakatpuram on the banks of Tunga river in Karnataka, as the perfect venue for this and for establishing a peeth tradition. Ever since Shakatpuram has become famous as a seat for performing spiritual practice and austerities.
On behalf of the organisation discourses on the Vedas, Vedanta and other Scriptures are conducted. Various rituals and fire sacrifices are also performed. Vedic schools, cattle rearing, serving food etc. are religious acts performed by the organisation.
