Issue of defaming Sanatan Sanstha
Ponda (Goa) – ‘In a public meeting commemorating martyr Govind Pansare in Kolhapur, Nikhil Wagle and Dr. Hamid Dabholkar had defamed Sanatan Sanstha while addressing the gathering. Dainik Sakal had defamed the Sanstha by publishing this news in its Kolhapur edition on 21st February 2017 on page number 8 under the heading, ‘New terrorism of anti-nationalists out of selfish motive’. As this has caused immense loss to the Sanstha, the administrative trustee of the Sanstha, Mr. Virendra Marathe has filed a case against the editor, proprietor, publisher and printer of Dainik Sakal along with Nikhil Wagle and Dr. Hamid Dabholkar asking as civil claim, compensation of 10 crores rupees, in the civil court here.
A notice demanding the defamation compensation was sent on 7th April 2017 on behalf of honorary legal adviser of the Sanstha, Adv. Ramdas Kesarkar; since this demand was not fulfilled Mr. Virendra Marathe has filed a case against the editor of Dainik Sakal, Mr. Manoj Balaraj Salunkhe, proprietor Sakal Papers Pvt. Ltd., publisher and printer Mr. Jaysingrao Pawar demanding defamation compensation in the Civil Magistrate’s court on behalf of devout Hindu Gajanan Naik, Nagesh Takbhate, Ms. Deepa Tiwadi, Mrs. Kaveri Rane, Ms. Divya Balehittal and Ramdas Kesarkar.
