Will MANS members stop their false claims about water pollution due to Ganesh-idol immersion and stop anti-Dharma drive like donation of idols ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat
Panaji : Goa Pollution Control Board (GPCB) had undertaken study on effect of immersion of Shri Ganesh idols on water from water reservoirs during Shri Ganesh festival of 2015. During the study undertaken even in 2014, GPCB had observed that immersion of Ganesh idols didn’t cause pollution.
GPCB undertook a big project under which it studied 12 water reservoirs in the State where Shri Ganesh idols are immersed. Among these reservoirs, there are lakes with plain water, canals, salt water creek and sea. 3 different samples (before immersion of idols; immediately after immersion of idols and 15 days after immersion of idols) were collected from these water reservoirs and were studied in laboratory. It was observed that no changes took place in the characteristics of water; therefore, it was deduced by GPCB that immersion of Shri Ganesh idols did not cause pollution in water reservoirs.
GPCB published 7-page report on this subject in its annual report for the financial year 2015-16.
