Some of the Saints of Sanatan Sanstha as well as few seekers with spiritual level higher than 60% perform the seva of finding spiritual healing chants on physical, psychological or spiritual distress for other seekers and Saints. They should consider various factors related to the seekers and Saints having spiritual distress such as
a. Their spiritual level,
b. Their samashti seva (Collective spiritual practice)
c. The specific spiritual distress that is troubling them
d. the negative energy attacks ensuing on them etc.,
before finding the healing chants, mudra (of the fingers) and the nyas to be performed using the mudra for alleviating their distress.

1. Spiritual level

The higher the spiritual level of the afflicted seeker or Saint, the greater the distress they experience according to the current times of adversity. Therefore, it takes more duration for the elimination of their distress. Hence it is essential to suggest healing chants and other spiritual remedies daily, till the spiritual distress is eliminated. One should follow up with the afflicted seeker or Saint every day and assess the level of their spiritual distress.

2. Samashti seva

If the seeker or Saint having spiritual distress is actively performing samashti seva then the negative energy attacks occurring on them are also severe. In such case, rather than just suggesting the spiritual healing chant to them, one should also think if the remedy of casting off the evil-eye should be performed on them to quickly negate the negative energy attack and for how many days. Once the evil-eye is cast off, the healing chant should be found out again and suggested to them.

3. Spiritual distress and its intensity

3A. Displeased Family Deity

If the Family Deity is displeased, then the distresses such as physical injuries, clashes, monetary difficulties, etc. occur. In such cases, spiritual remedies such as visiting the temple of Family Deity and offering prayers to Them to eliminate obstacles in the spiritual practice of all the family members, seeking forgiveness from the Family Deity for not paying due respect, placing a coconut vertically on a kalash in the home temple and offering daily prayers to the Family Deity, etc. should be suggested.

3B. Distress caused by ancestors

Even more severe distress can occur if the family members are afflicted by the distress caused by their departed ancestors. Examples of such distress are, family members getting addicted to alcohol, being affected by skin disease, lack of stability of finances in the household, unrest in the family etc. Such individuals should be suggested that they play the chant of the Name of Deity Datta continuously in their house at low volume, chant the Name of Deity Datta for some time apart from the recommended healing chant, perform the ritual of Shraddha for the departed souls etc.

3C. Distress caused by negative energies

Distress such as urge to throw or knock things around for no reason, uttering of swear words, feeling like shouting, manifestation of negative energy etc., are caused due to negative energies. The healing chant that is prescribed should be chanted for a specific duration, following which the healing chant should be found again. Duration of repeating the healing chant should be decided based on the intensity (mild, moderate or severe) of the negative energy distress. If the distress is of extreme nature, the time-period required for elimination of the distress is longer and hence the same healing chant can be suggested to be repeated for a longer duration.

4. Attack by negative energies

Negative energies have to expend higher amount of energy to inflict distress upon Saints and seekers with high spiritual level and those performing samashti seva. These negative energies could be from the 5th or 6th region of Hell, due to which their attacks could be at higher nirgun (Non-materialised) level and hence we are unable to detect them easily. Some examples of these are, symptoms of distress are felt at one chakra however, the location of negative energy is found at another chakra or despite elimination of the negative energy covering formed on the chakra, it gets created again and again (in such case, the negative energies would be directing the flow of black energy vertically from the top) or due to the black energy curtain created by the negative energies in front of us we do not perceive the negative energy covering on the body however, the distress is present etc. Therefore, it is essential to accurately identify if there is an attack by the negative energies. Negative energies also keep changing the place of their attack on the chakras. Therefore, it may also be necessary to find out the healing chant, mudra and place of performing nyas over and over again.

In this way, while suggesting the healing chant to someone, our capability of understanding the subtle dimension is put to test, also, we get the opportunity to learn something new every time while finding the spiritual remedy. We can learn a lot of things even from the negative energies. They do not expend their energy unnecessarily. They are thrifty in nature. The negative energies attack only the specific chakra of the seeker or Saint which is associated with the seva performed by the seeker or the Saint, for e.g., since a lawyer needs to speak, the negative energies attack his Vishuddha chakra. Similarly, negative energies attack the ajna chakra of the seekers performing the seva of obtaining knowledge. While finding out the spiritual remedies, every time God teaches us novel methods of performing spiritual remedy. Spiritual remedies such as chanting of bijamantra, performing spiritual remedy through awakening of Kundalini energy, directing the flow of Chaitanya on all chakras, casting off the evil-eye in subtle etc., have an immediate effect. Therefore, the principles such as, ‘Spirituality is an infinite science’ and ‘the curious are worthy of receiving Knowledge’, get imbibed in our mind. Finally, it is the Guru’s grace that helps us in learning. Guru appreciates our attitude of learning, and He therefore showers His grace upon us!’
