– Saint Eknath Maharaj
Note 1 – The arti composed by Saint Eknath Maharaj says ‘dhvajavajrāṃkuśa rekhacharani’. It has been changed to ‘dhvajavajrāṃkuśa’ to maintain the rhythm of the arti as singing it in the same rhythm helps in evoking spiritual emotion which is the objective behind singing an arti.
Implied meaning some words in the arti of ShriKrishna
1. ‘dhvajavajrāṃkuśa brīdācā toḍara ।’as per palmistry means the lines depicting the flag, thunderbolt (vajra) and spike (ankush) on the Holy feet are auspicious symbols, and anklets on the feet depict the motto of love unto devotees.
2. In ‘hṛdayīṃ padaka śobhe śrīvatsalāṃchana ।’ Shrivatsalanchan means love for devotees. The love for devotees that Shrivishnu has in His heart shines like a pendant.
Our prayer at the Holy feet of Shri Krishna is ‘May you too be able to sing the arti with spiritual emotion and enjoy Bliss from awakening of the spiritual emotion’.
