The Bharatiya scientist Jagdishchandra Bose had stated that plants too have life. In Bharatiya culture even plants are worshipped as Deities. Now scientists have begun to claim that plants have sensation. This proves how great and scientific Bharatiya culture is !
New Delhi – According to research on tomato and tobacco plants by a Tel Aviv University when the leaves of a tree are plucked, they experience pain and scream. Environmental changes or external stress makes plant scream. To test this, the scientists had installed microphones at 10 metres from the plants. The movements of the plants were recorded through it. This revealed that plants which are put under stress, i.e. those which are pulled or their leaves plucked emit 20 to 100 Kilohertz of ultrasonic frequencies. Also, when leaves of plants are plucked they try to convey their pain to the other plants. The researchers had installed 35 small machines to record even fine movements of these plants.
When plants of the tomato and tobacco were deprived of water for several days, they emitted 35 ultrasonic distress sounds.
This means that when plants are not watered, they get stressed. (Even though man is unable to hear the voice of plants, however, due to environmental changes (pollution) trees have been screaming for a long time and humans needs to do something to protect nature ! – Editor)
