Due to torrential rain for some days in some districts of Maharashtra and Karnataka a flood situation arose in which thousands of people were trapped and loss of property worth millions has occurred. To assist these victims along with the Government machinery several social, patriotic and organisations dedicated unto Dharma came forward. Sanatan Sanstha, Hindu Janjanajagruti Samiti and other pro-Hindu organisations too played a major role here. They helped by providing food, food grain, clothes, drinking water and other essential, medicines and medical help. Besides this help Sanatan Sanstha seekers and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti volunteers guided the flood victims to perform spiritual practice explaining the importance of chanting the Name of God to them. Seekers performing spiritual practice under the guidance of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Jayant Athavale helped flood victims, thus placing ideals before society. Given further is an account of this.
Karnapa (South Kanara District, Karnataka) – As part of the programme chalked out to provide aid to flood victims Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and like-minded organisations distributed essential commodities to the flood victims here. H.H. Ramanand Gowda distributed these goods.
In village Karnapa in Bellatangdi taluka when guiding flood victims H.H. Gowda spoke on how we have to remain alert to face the upcoming difficult times in the near future. He elaborated upon the importance of spiritual practice in detail.
Others present here were Secretary of Mazdoor Sangh from Bellatangadi taluka Mr. Jairam Saliyan, Co-ordinator for Chiranjeevi Yuvak Mandal Mr. Ramchandra Gowda, Former President of the Mandal Mr. Hariprasad Bhat along with Mr. Ravindra Pujari, Mr. Raghvendra Bhat, Mr. Sanjeev Darkhasu etc. all from the mandal. Mrs. Manjula Gowda, Mrs. Rupa and Mr. Anand Gowda of Sanatan Sanstha and Mr. Harish M. of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were present. Children affected by the floods too were given some things.
