Things that are useful during temporary evacuation

During eventuality such as floods, the house has to be evacuated immediately upon receiving the warning from the administration. A list of commodities which we need to carry at such times is given ahead. This would help to minimise the last moment commotion and save from the misery of leaving the house without important material.

A. A big strong and easy-to-carry bag to fill all the things and a haversack.

B. Tooth paste, shaving kit, soap, small mirror, comb, daily wears, bed sheets / blankets and regular medicines.

C. Dry eatables and drinking water sufficient for about 3 days.

D. Chlorine for purifying water.

E. Mobile and its charger, note-book having power bank and mobile numbers.

F. A torch operating on batteries and a big electrically charged torch having large focus.

G. Candles and match box that can be ignited despite humid environment or when wet.

H. Photocopies or originals of important documents (such as ration card, Adhar card, bank Passbook) and ATM card.

I. First-aid kit, mask to cover the nose and the mouth.

J. Thick cord, compass and a whistle for alerting everybody.

K. A small transistor for listening to the Government instructions, news, etc. relayed from All India Radio
Material for spiritual remedies.
