First public protest on American streets against M. F. Husain

On 29-Mar-06, Sotheby’s auction house of New York went ahead with the auction of Husain’s denigrating works, despite hundreds of protest emails and phone calls to Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Hence, on 30-Mar-06 staged protests outside Christie’s auction house. Hindus led by Mr. Nirvan Balkissoon, President of Canadian Hindu Art & Cultural Society and promptly supported by seekers from Sanatan Sanstha, and joined by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Indian American Intellectual Forum members. Here we see this first public protest against M. F.
