The importance of bhav and reducing ego
With bhav the mind becomes sattvik and there is an increase in positivity.
By reducing the ego, the mind becomes sattvik, and it remains in a learning mode at all times. It also means, through gratitude, the intellect becomes sattvik, which means being in a learning mode all the time and also being in a state to listen.
- A Scholar (Through the medium of Ms. Anjali Gadgil) For this reason, all Sanatan seekers, especially those in prasar, must focus on their individual sadhana (spiritual practice).
Report problems immediately!
During the internal cleansing process in 2003, a lot of old mistakes were reported. After that it was expected that recent mistakes of seekers will be reported. But during Sanatan's National Camp in Devad recently, a lot of mistakes which had taken place two or three years ago were narrated. With time a lot of things change. Old situations do not hold any meaning in the present context. It is important to know the present situation.
With sadhana, 'Valya koli' became 'Valmiki Rushi'. Here it is irrelevant to know what he did in the past. It is the same with past incidences with seekers. Dr. Tawde, who had many personality defects earlier is today the coordinator of Maharashtra for Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. The seekers should report only mistakes that have taken place in the last 3 months. If someone does narrate an old problem, ask him why it was not reported earlier.
View point one must have while narrating a mistake!
During a Personality Defect Removal (PDR) satsang, when a mistake is being reported, it is important to not only discuss the mistake, but also the reason for it and the solution. Only after all this is done, can you say that the point has been completely covered.
Do not just report a problem, suggest the solution too!
Many seekers report mistakes or problems to the prasar sevaks and the guiding sevaks. They do not suggest a solution for them. When they are asked about it, they say that they have informed the prasar sevak about it. The prasar sevak, who is far away from the local situation, is not able to completely assess the problem. Thus, there is a delay in finding a solution. While reporting a problem if one or two solutions are also suggested, it will help overcome the problem faster. The famous industrialist JRD Tata had put up a poster outside his office -
'Do not bring problems to me, bring solutions!' So can you do.
A child-seeker whose effort should put even elders to shame!
I picked up five rupees, which were kept in front of H. H. Dr. Athavale's photograph. When I did that, I told my mother that I am taking the money so as to play on the swing. This was a lie because I bought a chocolate and hid it. When my mother enquired about the chocolate, I told her a lie that my grandfather had given the money for it.
Because of stealing, telling a lie and hiding a lie, I lost my mother's trust. It also created a wrong impression on my mind. - Ms. Sakshi Modi (Age 7 years), Sojat road, Rajasthan.
Atonement: I will not eat chocolates for three months.
(A 7 year old seeker realises the importance of PDR and writing the mistake, which the grown-ups have still not realised. All seekers must make Ms. Sakshi their ideal. )
Overcome opposition to Dharma-karya through faith in God
Many seekers (who toil for Hinduism) through the medium of Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti are performing tasks for protection of Dharma (Dharma-karya). Due to these tasks, Hindus are getting awakened about Dharma. While doing such tasks, one has to face opposition. Seekers are facing opposition. As the scope of the task increases, the opposition too will increase.
The opposition can be of any type and one may have to face trouble too. The opposition can be from known heretics, their Organisations and so called Hindu Organisations. At such times, one may wonder who to seek support from. One should perform Dharma-karya with faith in God. Seekers should function with faith in God, face and fight with the opposition and overcome troubles.
- Dr. Durgesh Samant, National Spokesperson, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
Nation and Dharma are an expansive form of oneself
Self defense means defending the Nation and Dharma. It also means defending our physical body, as only with this physical body can we do sadhana. With this self, we can look after our family, home, our society, village, district, Nation and Dharma, and this in turn will look after the
'self'. We should remember that only if all these are defended, the 'self' will be defended. Nation and Dharma are the expansive form of oneself and so it is important that we defend the two. - Mr. Vinay Panvalkar, Chief of Dharmashakti Sena, Devrukh, Maharashtra.
Use sattvik objects in marriages and ritualistic worship!
If the objects used in a marriage are sattvik, the couple will derive spiritual benefit from the rituals and be able to absorb maximum chaitanya (Divine consciousness) from it. The clothes worn by the groom and the bride should be sattvik. The clothes of the couple should be as per the science of Spirituality.
The garlands and decoration can also be sattvik. The flowers in the garlands and the decoration should be straight and not crossed. While hanging the garlands, the distance from the ground should be even.
The colours of the flowers can be as follows - white (30%) , red or pink (50%), green leaves (20%).

H.H. Dr. Athavale on Intense Desire, Chaitanya and Temples
Even if one is sent home from the Ashram, if one has intense desire, God will help him!
If one has intense desire (for God-realisation) under any situation, God will never be far from him. Of 100 seekers staying in the Ashram, even if one seeker does not behave appropriately, the others can be troubled. In such a case, it is better to send that one seeker home.
If you see it from the samashti point of view, God will never push him away. If that seeker has an intense desire for God-realisation, wherever he may be, he will get guidance from God. In the Ashram whichever way he behaves, God will like him, because of his intense desire.
In sadhana, this intense desire has 80% importance. Others only see that seeker's inappropriate behavior; they do not see his intense desire. Such a seeker, when sent home will still get guidance from God. He will be guided in the subtle or he will meet some Saints, who will guide him.
To retain the chaitanya, take care of the poster of Arjun and Sri Krushna!
A poster of Arjun and Sri Krushna, which was put up on the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti's stage at Mapusa, Goa was torn when it was being removed after the function. The weapons in the hands of Sri Krushna destroy black energy and emit chaitanya.
Many seekers have had this spiritual experience. Many pay obeisance to the poster.
The chaitanya in the poster can be retained only with our bhav; else it will get destroyed. So we must take proper care of the poster.
Temple Administrations must keep this is mind!
Instead of thinking how many people visited your temple, or took prasad (Holy sacrament), pay attention to how many of them started doing sadhana. How many of them made spiritual progress? Temple Administrations should pay attention to this and make appropriate efforts in their functioning. (Ref:
'Dainik Sanatan Prabhat')
Ask not your path of sadhana - it is Gurukrupayog!
Four months ago, the sadhana paths of some seekers were published for the purpose of study. Since then many seekers have enquired which is the path for them. This should be clear to all, after doing sadhana for so many years in Sanatan - it is Gurukrupayog. In previous lifetimes it could have been any path; but now, spiritual progress can occur only in samashti sadhana, which can be fulfilled only by Gurukrupayog. So all Sanatan seekers will do sadhana as per Gurukrupayog. - H. H. Dr Athavale.
