Samvatsararambh
Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, Kaliyug Varsh 5110 (6th
April 2008)
The wheel of Time that begins on Samvatsar-arambh
day is related to the origin of the Universe and is
beneficial for mankind. The period commencing on 1st
January is related to the Dissolution of the Universe
and is detrimental. Hence, celebrate the Samvatsar-arambh
day !
This Hindu New Year Day is celebrated by worshipping
and hoisting the Dharmadhwaj (flag) immediately
after sunrise. On this day, Prajapati frequencies
arrive on Earth in larger proportions. The kalash
on the Dharmadhwaj facilitates the entry of
these frequencies into the house. Neem leaves have
greater ability to absorb Prajapati frequencies, hence
one should partake this as prasad.
The Dharmadhwaj should be lowered before sunset.
Using the dhwaj-kalash for drinking water helps
us avail of these frequencies the entire year.
Greetings to our well wishers.
Sriram Navami
Chaitra Shukla Ashtami, Kaliyug Varsh 5110 (13th
April 2008)
Compare Sri Ram and His subjects with today's leaders
and subjects!: Just as Sri Ram and His devotees were
ideal in all respects, the subjects of Ayodhya were
also equally ideal. They had tremendous bhav (spiritual
emotion) for Sri Ram. They performed spiritual practice
as was expected by Sri Ram (it was mostly individual
spiritual practice). Their average spiritual level
was 50% or more. So they could understand Sri Ram
and His devotees and were capable of enjoying Ram
Rajya. - God (Through the medium of Ms. Madhura
Bhosale, 9.03 pm to 9.20 pm, 6.4.2005)
Benefit of both, Sri Durgadevi And Sri Ram Principles
on the day of Sriram Navami
On this day, the frequencies of the Primal Energy,
Sri Durgadevi and Sri Ram Principle are active on
a large scale in the Universe. Hence, the embodied
soul benefits from both the Principles on this day.

Chapekar Brothers |
|
Chapekar Brothers:
The Chapekars were Chitpavan Brahmins from Konkan.
The family came to Chinchawad near Poona where the
three brothers, Damodar, Balkrishna and Vasudeo, were
born in 1870, 1873 and 1879 respectively. The brothers
did not receive much formal education, they learnt
reading and writing and began helping their father
in his Kirtans as they grew.
As the Chapekars grew, Poona became the storm centre
of several controversies over the Age of Consent Bill,
the Sharadashram of Pandita Ramabai, a Christian convert,
and the Hindu-Muslim riots. The Kesar and other local
papers were championing the cause of orthodoxy, and
in this atmosphere the Chapekars began to feel that
a deliberate attempt was being made to humiliate their
religion by the reformers and Muslims, at the instigation
of the British Government. They felt they had to do
something for their faith. They organised an association
for physical and military training, which they called
"the society for the removal of obstacles to the Hindu
Religion".
They became active members of the Ganapati melas
that lustily sang songs praising Shivaji for "his
daring deeds and exhorting the audience to risk their
life on the battlefield in a national war to shed
upon the earth the lifeblood of the enemies who destroyed
their religion". About the end of 1896 the plague
assumed an epidemic form in the Bombay Presidency.
The Government of India was asked to pursue strong
measures to stamp out the epidemic. A law was passed
and special officers were appointed in plague-affected
areas to fight the disease. Mr. Rand was posted to
the city of Poona in February 1897 and lost no time
in starting a campaign to disinfect the affected localities.
British soldiers used to implement the programme strictly.
This caused immense harassment to the public when
their houses were searched, their family worship-places
desecrated, their household goods scattered or destroyed
and their womenfolk very roughly handled. The plague
officer Rand showed little deference for public opinion
and his high-handed conduct came in for strong criticism
from the local press. The 'Kesar' and other papers
asked the people not to suffer quietly the oppression
of Rand's rule. The Chapekars could not remain immune
to the propaganda. In revenge they determined to kill
Rand, the chief source of all the harassment. They
procured weapons and watched Rand's movements for
a few days. On 22nd June 1897 there were celebrations
at the Government House in Ganesh Khind on account
of the Queen's diamond jubilee. As Rand's carriage
came out of the Government House at midnight, Damodar
jumped on the back seat and fired his gun at Rand
at point-blank range. The officer collapsed immediately,
as also Lt. Ayerst who was in the carriage in front
and whom Damodar's brother Balkrishna fired upon.
In October, the police, working on information received
from one Dravid, arrested Damodar in Bombay. They
put him on trial in February 1898. The sentence of
death was confirmed by the High Court and Damodar
died on the gallows on 18th April 1898. Balkrishna
was traced later and found guilty and was hanged on
12th May 1899.
In the meanwhile the third brother Vasudeo came to
know of the treachery of Dravid and gunned him in
the evening of 9th February 1899. After a short trial
he was sentenced to death and was hanged on 8th May.
All the three brothers felt they were dying for a
lofty cause and showed no signs of fear or remorse
when mounting the gallows. 18th April is Damodar Chapekar
Balidan day.
We pay obeisance to these invaluable sons of Bharat.
Mangal Pandey:
Mangal Pandey (19th July 1827 - 8th April 1857) was
born in the village of Nagwa in district Ballia (Uttar
Pradesh). Families in Nagwa village claim Mangal Pandey
to be their first ancestor and trace their family
lineage to him. He joined the East India Company's
forces in 1849. Pandey was part of the 34th BNI regiment
and is primarily known for attacking the officers
of that regiment. He was a devout Hindu and he practiced
his religion diligently.
The primary motivation behind Mangal Pandey's behaviour
is attributed to a new type of bullet cartridge used
in the Enfield P-53 rifle, which was to be introduced
in the Bengal Army that year. The cartridge was rumoured
to having been greased with animal fat (primarily
pig fat and cow fat, which are animals not consumed
by Muslims and Hindus respectively, the former being
abhorrent to Muslims and the latter a Holy animal
of the Hindus). The cartridges had to be bitten at
one end prior to use. The mutineers were of the opinion
that this was an intentional act of the British, with
the aim of defiling their religions.
The attack by, and punishment of, Pandey is widely
seen as the opening scene of what came to be known
as the 'Indian Mutiny of 1857'. He is often referred
to in Bharat as Shaheed (Martyr) Mangal Pandey.
We pay obeisance to this invaluable son of Bharat.

Tatya Tope |
Tatya Tope:
Tatya Tope alias Ram Chandra Pandurang was born around
1813 in an orthodox Deshasth Brahmin family in Poona.
His father, Pandurang Rao Tope, was an important noble
at the court of the Peshwa Baji Rao II. He shifted
his family with the ill-fated Peshwa to Bithur where
his son became the most intimate friend of the Peshwa's
adopted son, Nana Dhundu Pant. The other associates
of Tatya Tope were Rao Sahib and Rani Lakshmi Bai.
In 1851, when Lord Dalhousie deprived Nana Sahib of
his father's pension, Tatya Tope also became a sworn
enemy of the British. He co-operated with Nana Sahib
in organising an anti-British upsurge secretly in
collaboration with other aggrieved persons. In May
1857, when the political storm was gaining momentum,
he won over the Bharatiya troops of the East India
company, stationed at Kanpur, established Nana Sahib's
authority and became the Commander-in-Chief of his
revolutionary forces. In the military encounters that
followed he emerged as a gifted tactician with a marvellous
organising skill and as an unsurpassed guerrilla warrior
with lightning speed.
After the reoccupation of Kanpur by the British he
joined hands with Rani Lakshmi Bai and kindled a revolt
in Bundelkhand.
Then he reached Gwalior where he declared Nana Sahib
as Peshwa with the support of the Gwalior contingent.
But before he could consolidate his position he was
defeated by General Rose in a memorable battle in
which Rani Lakshmi Bai suffered martyrdom. The fall
of Gwalior was a turning point in the career of Tatya
Tope. Thereafter commenced his remarkable feats of
guerrilla warfare over very vast regions of Central
India, Malwa, Bundel-khand, Rajputana and Khandesh,
from the recesses of the Vindhyas to the gorges of
the Aravali, harassing and perplexing the British
and their allies. Pursued from June 1858 to April
1859 by nearly half of the British forces in India
under their ablest generals enjoying the fullest support
of their military intelligence, he outmaneuvred them
several times.
He could not be captured in the marathon chase of
about 2,800 miles horizontally and vertically through
forests, hills, dales and across the swollen rivers.
At last he was betrayed by his trusted friend Mansingh.
The British army captured him on 7th April 1859. He
admitted boldly, "What I did, was for my mother and
I have no regrets". He was hanged on 18th April 1859
and the sun set forever on the First War of Bharatiya
Independence.
We pay obeisance to this invaluable son of Bharat.

Budget 2008-2009: I will scratch your back, you
scratch mine!
The Finance Minister Mr. P Chidambaram presented
to the Lok Sabha the budget for the financial year
2008-09. This is the last budget before the next general
elections for the Lok Sabha. The expectations of the
farmers and the billionaire industrialists were naturally
high. The Bharatiya public is now accustomed to watching
the political scenario and guessing what sort of budget
will come. People were aware of the fact that the
Congress Government, which is already doing a tight
rope walk on the support of the Left, does not want
to take any risks. The Finance Minister presented
the report of the economic survey for 2007-08 on Magh
Krishna Saptami, Kaliyug Varsh 5109 (28th February
2008). This survey forms the basis for making provisions
in the budget for the next financial year. The UPA
Government led by the Congress was aspiring to attain
an economic growth rate of 10%. When the survey said
that the growth rate for 2007-08 was 8.7%, it also
realised that during the last financial year also
the growth rate was the same. However, the UPA Government
kept behaving as if the growth rate was already 10%
and was thus trying to hoodwink the people.
Looking at the slow pace of economic development,
the Finance Minister was compelled to declare that
the growth rate for the new year would be 9%. This
is a clear indictment of the Government led by the
Congress. The Central Government is also concerned
with the elections which are around the corner in
State Assemblies of four states. As the Governments
in these states have to nurture the interest of the
Congress Party, the budgetary provisions for all schemes
in this area were raised from Rs. 14,365 crores to
Rs.16,400 crores. It was expected that by this the
people in this area will remain grateful to the Congress.
Budgetary provision of Rs. 300 crores has been made
for a water purification scheme in Tamil Nadu. Now
the DMK party will also remain grateful to the Congress.
What remains now is the border area. The Government
has now awakened to the progress of the region on
which China has an eye and is openly staking its claim
on it. The Government has provided Rs. 500 crores
only for this. In fact the Congress Government learnt
the lesson of regional development from China itself.
China has created infrastructural facilities in the
barren and uninhabited area and has continued its
expansionist policy. One need not be surprised if
the people of Arunachal Pradesh are attracted to China
as a result of its policy.
The Prime Minister has pleased individuals and the
companies by giving fabulous concessions to the taxpayers.
The Congress party has tried to protect its interest
in this budget. Thus the budget can well be termed
as 'I will scratch your back, you scratch mine!' -

High Court intervenes to prevent Misuse of Donations
made to Siddhivinayak Trust
Mumbai - The High Court order chalked out
new guidelines to prevent misuse of donations made
to Sri Siddhivinayak Trust by Organisations of political
leaders who are on the board of the Trust. (The
judiciary is compelled to step in, to check the unbridled
irresponsible behaviour of political leaders. We have

of an ailing person. Henceforth, the authority to
take decisions on financial aid will rest with a review
committee under the Chairmanship of a retired Justice
of High Court, instead of the Trust. (We cannot
expect the thick-skinned leaders to feel shameful
for having led the Court to take such a decision! - Editor) There has been a high incidence of irregularity

Angels
A Spiritual Perspective
1.Introduction
Since times immemorial the concept of angels has fascinated
mankind. They are invariably depicted with wings.
Many people pray to angels for their worldly desires
or to fulfill some wish. Through spiritual research,
we have studied various aspects of angels. This article
answers many frequently asked questions on angels
and provides insight into the world of angels. We
have also provided pictures on our website of some
of the various forms of angels as actually seen through
the subtle vision or sixth sense.
2. What are angels?
Angels have existed since the beginning of Creation.
They are beings from the lower part of the subtle
region of Heaven (Swarga-loka). They are the
lowest in the hierarchy of positive subtle beings.
Their primary purpose is to act as messengers for
lower level Deities in the lower subtle region of
Heaven (Swargaloka). Deities speak in the language
of light, whereas we humans speak in the language
of sound. Angels therefore carry messages from lower
level Deities to deserving humans on Earth and subtle
bodies in the Nether region, in a language they can
understand. This is primarily through the medium of
putting thoughts in their minds. The messages are
generally about how to address a particular worldly
issue. About 5% of times angels themselves also give
worldly advice. As their duty is mainly on Earth,
most of them are Earthbound. When they are not delivering
messages they lead a life devoted to experiencing
pleasures in the lower subtle region of Heaven (Swargaloka).
3. What are the various types of angels?
There are in all some 30 varieties of angels. We have
shown some of the more popular types of angels and
their corresponding spiritual level in the diagram
below. (Please see the diagram 'A' below.)
|
The reason for the variety of angels is that each
one operates at different frequencies. This allows
them to relay messages to multitude of human personalities
who match their frequencies the best.
3.1 What is the spiritual level of angels?
Most angels fall between 29-34% spiritual level. Despite
their comparatively low spiritual level, angels reside
in the lower subtle region of Heaven. Just as on Earth
along with humans we have other animal species and
plant kingdom of lower spiritual level, so also in
Heaven along with subtle bodies of humans with higher
spiritual level and lower level Deities, we have angels.
The minimum spiritual level for humans to make it
to Heaven after death is 60%.
3.2 Pictures and brief description of some types
of angels
Some subtle pictures of angels have been drawn by
Ms. Yoya Vallee, a seeker of the Spiritual Science
Research Foundation (SSRF) who is speech and hearing
impaired. She is able to see the spiritual realm just
as we see the physical realm. The pictures have been
verified by H.H. Dr. Athavale for accuracy. Subtle
pictures are an important tool in Spiritual research.
They have the same place like X-rays have in medical
science, as they provide an authentic glimpse into
the subtle world for those who cannot look into it
by themselves. SSRF has used the gift of sixth sense
of many of its seekers to gain an insight into the
subtle world and record it for the benefit of humanity.
One such picture is shown below, in diagram 'B'.
|
3.3 How is it that the angels shown here do not
have wings?
Angels have traditionally been depicted having wings.
70% of angels do not have wings. 30% of angels that
have wings are of the lowest order of angels. They
communicate with human beings on fulfilment of very
low worldly desires.
3.4 Influence of ghosts in subtle pictures
Quite often negative energies pose as angels and misguide
people and create illusory forms of angels with wings.
In this way, quite often, people who have psychic
ability are misled. As many psychics guide society,
negative energies mislead psychics who in turn unintention-ally
mislead the people they are guiding. Hence, in 90%
of cases when the average psychic sees an angel, it
is generally ghosts. Therefore, it is very important
for a person with subtle vision to verify their subtle
pictures with a spiritual guide of the spiritual level
of at least 70%.
3.5 What are guardian angels?
There is no such thing as a guardian angel. Some ancestors
who have deep affinity for the family, communicate
to help their family members on worldly matters. These
departed ancestors may be mistaken for guardian angels.
Ancestors within the range of 20-30% spiritual level
can help only on deriving worldly pleasures. Only
those ancestors above the spiritual level of 50% can
help on spiritual progress.
3.6 Are angels male or female?
Angels can be either male or female. Only subtle entities
and subtle bodies above the subtle region of Heaven
i.e. in Mahaloka etc. due to their high spiritual
level of over 80% do not identify themselves with
any gender.
3.7 What is the composition of angels as per the
subtle basic components?
The proportion of the three subtle basic components
in angels is given in the diagram 'C' below.
|
4. Other frequently asked questions about angels
4.1 Can we see angels?
As angels are subtle beings they are not visible to
the ordinary human eye. They can be seen only with
the help of an advanced and activated sixth sense.
Their mechanism of communication with us is by putting
thoughts in our mind.
4.2 How many angels are there?
There are innumerable angels.
4.3 How close are angels to God?
Considering the relatively low spiritual level of
angels (i.e. 29-34%), they are very far from God.
(One has to be near 100% spiritual level to be close
to God.)
4.4 Do angels have the power to answer our prayers
as in fulfilling our worldly wishes?
No, angels do not have the capacity to answer prayers,
i.e. they cannot bestow any favour or get anything
done for humans on their own. At the most, they can
guide people with regards to worldly matters by putting
thoughts in their mind. This happens about 5% of times.
4.5 When we pray to angels and they do not answer,
then who answers the prayer?
The prayers are answered either by our departed ancestors
or ghosts. In their eternal quest to gain control
on humans in order to satisfy their cravings, they
take advantage of the prayer by satisfying their small
wishes. However, in the process they engulf the person
in their black energy, so that they can control the
person and cause distress to him.
4.6 Do angels protect us from negative energies?
Due to their low spiritual level, angels cannot fight
with even lower level ghosts and hence cannot protect
us.
4.7 Are angels worthy of worship?
They cannot answer our prayers to help us with spiritual
growth. Hence they are not worthy of worship.
5. In Summary
1.Angels are the lowest in the positive subtle hierarchy
in the Universe. Their only function is to deliver
messages for lower level Deities in the subtle region
of Heaven to deserving humans or subtle bodies in
the nether region.
2.As they cannot guide us spiritually nor protect
us from negative energies, they are not worthy of
worship.
3.Invariably, negative energies take advantage of
mankind's fascination for angels, by taking the form
of angels to misguide psychics who in turn unintention-ally
misguide society.

Hanuman Jayanti
Chaitra Pournima, Kaliyug Varsh 5110 (20th April
2008)
Qualities of Lord Hanuman
A. One who has unflinching faith in the Name of
the Lord: Lord Hanuman had steadfast faith that 'Name alone does everything.' Sri Ram fought with
Him, as an act of obedience towards Sage Vishwamitra.
Sri Ram showered many arrows at Him. But due to His
devotion to Sri Ram, not a single arrow touched Him.
It is due to His faith in the Name that He could cross
the ocean and reach Lanka.
B. One who is not stuck in the manifest dimension:
Lord Hanuman has more of unmanifest bhav (spiritual
emotion) in Him. He is Principle-oriented, not person-oriented.
So He also carried out the seva assigned to Him by
Lord Krishna with great faith.
C. One who observes strict celibacy.
D. One who prays without expectations: Sri
Ram rewarded all after conquering Lanka, but He did
not give anything to Lord Hanuman. When Sri Ram asked
Him to ask for a boon, He prayed, "O God, give me
a permanent place at Your Holy Feet. You reside in
my heart permanently. Let me always do your seva".
This shows how Lord Hanuman does seva without expectation
of any worldly pleasure.
E. One who does not have attraction and has a sense
of detachment: Lord Hanuman sacrificed wealth,
respect in society, physical pleasures, women, kingdom
and status. He wanted only the Lord. He did not want
anything except Sri Ram.
F. One who chants the Name while fighting also.
G. One who has no doubts.
H. One who serves with devotion.
I. One engrossed in post-Realisation action.
J. One engrossed in post-Realisation devotion.
Using Divine radiance And warrior-spirit to the
required extent
The Holy thread around Lord Hanuman's neck is a symbol
of Divine radiance. Lord Hanuman is an Incarnation
of Lord Shiva; He possesses the power of Dissolution.
In devotion for Sri Ram, He absorbed the Vishnu Principle.
Thus, He also acquired the power of Sustenance. He
has both, the Divine radiance and a warrior-spirit,
which He uses during a war only to the extent required.
During the epic war of Mahabharat, Lord Krishna gave
Him a place on the chariot of Arjun. Lord Hanuman
destroyed all missiles and weapons aimed at the chariot,
in the air itself.
Lord Hanuman's mace symbolises that His warrior-spirit
is active
There are vertical and horizontal lines on the mace
of Lord Hanuman. The vertical lines represent the
raja component, whereas the horizontal one's
represent the tama component; thus the mace
is a symbol of raja-tama, supported by sattva.
A combination of raja-sattva signifies a warrior-spirit.
That Lord Hanuman always carries a mace means His
warrior-spirit is always active. The mace is also
a symbol of Dissolution. There is a mace in the hands
of Lord Vishnu and Sri Datta too. (The shape of the
mace is such that it tapers from its upper portion.
This signifies that one has to enhance one's ego to
perform the task of a destroyer.) - (Through the
medium of Kumar Mane at 12.10 pm on 30.3.2006)
Manifest power of Lord Vishnu is high on Hanuman
Jayanti
The Hanuman Principle is manifest in larger measures
on Hanuman Jayanti. The proportion of Lord Vishnu's
manifest power increases from the day of Sriram Navami
till Hanuman Jayanti. Those who do as much sadhana
(spiritual practice) as possible during this period,
get maximum benefit of five superior Deities (Sri
Durgadevi, Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Shiv and Hanuman).
-
Sri Guru Principle (2.11 pm on 13.3.2004)
Chant 'II Sri Hanumate Namah II' as much as is possible
on Hanuman Jayanti, to get maximum benefit of the
Hanuman Principle.

Proclaim Hinduism in a language Politicians understand!
The Congress Govern-ment decided to give special concessions
to Muslims through the Sachhar Commission. Now, would
the Government have repeatedly put off the execution
of death sentence awarded by the Supreme Court to
Afzal, who planned the attacked on the Bharatiya Parliament,
if he were not a Muslim?
Look at Kashmir. Various schemes are being prepared
to help the relatives of terrorists. Politicians are
using their power to strengthen existing vote banks
of minorities and creating new ones. They dance to
the tune of numbers. They become humble in front of
an aggressive flock. They are scared of guns. Injustice
to Hindus and Hindu Dharma and pampering the
followers of other religions has become their hallmark.
They are least bothered about the numerous demonstrations
by Hindus against the film 'Jodhaa-Akbar'. Remember,
that the film 'Da Vinci Code', which depicted that
Jesus had a family life, was banned by the Goa Government,
when threatened by a Christian Parliamentarian (even
when the film was not banned in Rome itself!). On
the contrary, in a place like Sangli, a Police officer
who goes by the name of Mr. Krishna Prakash dares
to brutally beat up (and that too without any reason,
in broad daylight) an elderly, celibate and harmless
devotee of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Pujya Bhide Guruji
who was returning after demonstrating against the
film. Will Mr. Krishna Prakash show similar 'bravery'
with some Moulavi? When Muslims at Bhiwandi burned
two of their brethren alive, why did the Police not
show similar heroism? Ants, animals or terrorists,
all under-stand their own language.
Similarly, whether it is the Police or Politicians,
they do not understand the language of verbal protests
by a handful of Hindus. What is the language they
understand? Think of this and only then you and your
Dharma will survive.
Religious heads of Hindus must teach this language
to their followers. Only then will they do justice
to their office. Let us learn from the Buddhist religious
leaders of Tibet and Mynamar, who are fighting fearlessly
against the iron fist of military dictators for preservation
of their self-respect! Let us all prepare to follow
this new teaching, utilising the occasion of New Year
starting on Gudipadva! In the coming year, let us
prepare a force that vibrates with Dharmashakti,
to fight the dark shadow of the evil qualities of
our politicians on Hindu Dharma and National
interests. Let us make these people understand Hinduism
in a language they understand! - H. H. Dr. Athavale,
Founder, Sanatan Sanstha.

Sanatan's Galaxy of Saints gets its Fifth Saint
- Pujya Satyavanji!
|
|
Sri Satyavan Kadam was felicitated by Pujya Deshpandeji
and H.H. Pande Maharaj on 21st February during the
National camp in Sanatan's Devad Ashram on His attaining
Sainthood. H.H. Pande Maharaj declared Sri Satyavan
Kadam a Saint. He is the fifth Sanatan seeker to attain
Sainthood.
A Saint's perception of Pujya Satyavanji
Acquiring Sainthood on account of bhav, earnestness,
sense of obedience and devotion: How much chaitanya
will spread if there are 100 Saints? Sanatan's seekers
have proved beyond doubt the significance of the Gurukrupayog
(Path of Guru's Grace). Perseverance, bhav,
earnestness for seva, a sense of obedience
and unflinching faith in H.H. Dr. Athavale helped
Pujya Satyavanji attain Sainthood.
This is how H.H. Dr. Athavale groomed Pujya Satyavanji!
When Pujya Satyavanji became the fifth saint of Sanatan
on 21st February 2008, He progressed from the stage
of a seeker to that of a Saint by Guru's grace. Sanatan's
other four Saints are - Pujya Phadake aji, Pujya Deshpandeji,
Pujya Pethe aji and Pujya Nikam-tatya. (H.H. Pande
Maharaj and H.H. Raghuveer Maharaj were already Saints
when they came in contact with Sanatan Sanstha.) One
striking feature of Pujya Satyavanji is that He is
the youngest of Sanatan's Saints. All other Saints
are above 70 years in age, whereas Pujya Satyavanji
is 44 years old. Pujya Satyavanji started on His spiritual
practice in 1990, when He met H.H. Dr. Athavale at
His clinic at Sion in Mumbai. He was then 27 years
of age. Being popular as an upright and ideal student
in His school life, once He met H.H. Dr. Athavale,
He stuck to H.H. Dr. Athavale due to His seekership
qualities. H.H. Dr. Athavale groomed the quiet and
solitude loving Pujya Satyavanji for serving the society.
H.H. Dr. Athavale wanted to chisel Him for Samashti
activities, so He was assigned the following responsib-ilities.
To start with, Pujya Satyavanji was asked to take
care of the Sion sevakendra and seekers residing
there. When He developed the sixth sense of subtle
dimension in 2003, He was taught how to treat seekers
spiritually through the subtle dimension for warding
off the distress of negative energies and to take
subtle readings. He was inspired to imbibe the qualities
of tyag and Kshatravritti. In 2005,
He was asked to look after the administration of Miraj
Ashram and assigned the care of 30-40 seekers there,
thus making Him more expansive. He was also asked
to tour Maharashtra and taught how to speak to seekers
on His own, how to understand their difficulties and
give them appropriate spiritual perspective. This
made Him increase His love for others. In 2007, H.H.
Dr. Athavale asked Him to stay with Sanatan's Saints
and learn from them. Thus His learning till the stage
of Sainthood was completed by the grace of the Guru
in one and a half decade. Many seekers have had spiritual
experiences of chaitanya emanating from Pujya
Satyavanji. Such experiences will increase now.
Pujya Satyavanji recounts His journey to Sainthood
During our stay at Sion we learnt a lot from H.H.
Dr. Athavale. He used to teach us through His behaviour,
speech and action. He taught us how to cook too.
H.H. Dr. Athavale taught us how to keep an eye
on everything at the same time: H.H. Dr. Athavale
called me to Ramnathi Ashram for seva. I was assigned
seva in the construction department. H.H. Dr. Athavale
used to come every morning to supervise the construction.
He used to observe keenly the construction activity
and pointed out mistakes. In this manner, He showed
us how to keep an eye on everything at the same time.
Upkeep of Ashram and paying special attention to
cleanliness:
H.H. Dr. Athavale used to pay special attention to
cleanliness. He often did things like removing cobwebs,
keeping things in place etc. He would be alert that
not a single thing goes waste. He would get the rooms
and the stored items cleaned on a regular basis. He
insisted on finishing leftover food first. He Himself
helped us in this.
Paying attention to neatness and tidiness:
He was very particular that electricity bills etc.
were paid immediately. All bills were classified and
filed separately. It was essential to keep them in
that manner. H.H. Dr. Athavale always paid attention
to neatness and tidiness.
How should the seekers behave in the Ashram?:
H.H. Dr. Athavale would tell us how we can create
love amongst ourselves by small actions like speaking
kindly with seekers, walking with them for some distance
to see them off. Sometimes He even climbed down two
floors and went outside the building to bid them good-bye.
Due to His love, many were inspired to do spiritual
practice.
H.H. Dr. Athavale pointed out our mistakes and
made us take atonement:
Once we were video shooting a spiritual treatment
on a seeker. During the shooting the battery of the
camera slipped from the hands of a seeker. We should
have told the seeker that it is necessary to handle
valuable objects very carefully. We should have brought
to his notice that the money given by God should be
utilised properly without being careless. But we did
not point out his mistake and failed to tell him to
write his mistake on the board and also speak about
it in the satsang. H.H. Dr. Athavale pointed our mistake
and asked us to take an atonement. We realised the
perspective we should have adopted.
Paying attention to make seekers perfect in every
aspect, to give punishment if one makes a mistake
and also to love seekers equally well:
He always felt that seekers should be perfect in every
aspect. So He paid full attention to us. He showed
us our mistakes and got them corrected. He gave punishments
whenever it was required. At the same time, He also
gave a lot of love to us. Thus we did not lack anything.
He gave us everything.
Not allowing anyone's time to go waste:
When a seekers comes to a sevakendra, he should
be given some seva else he will sit idle without
any seva. So H.H. Dr. Athavale made special
efforts to see that one's time is not wasted for lack
of seva.
Removal of ego:
While we were doing a seva of connecting the
power cables in Devad Ashram, H.H. Dr. Athavale came
there. He said, "The seva of power connection
has not been done properly. The plastic strips used
for power wires should have been installed on the
wall near the ceiling. The present installation does
not look good." Hearing this, first I felt bad. But
when I pondered over it, I realised He showed me my
mistake so that my ego that 'I have done the power
connection job' should not increase. I then made the
wire connections as per His expectat-ions. When He
arrived in Devad Ashram after a few months, He said,
"The seva of power connections is well done".
He taught us how to become self-reliant: H.H. Dr.
Athavale Himself taught us how to do some of the sevas
like repairing leaking taps, cleaning gas stoves etc.
and then got them done from us, so that we learn how
to perform sevas without waiting for someone
to come and help us. H.H. Dr. Athavale taught how
to do sagun seva and did the seva personally
to show how it should be done as if the Guru Himself
was coming to us. Once when H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj
was to arrive at Sion, Mumbai, H.H. Dr. Athavale personally
supervised the preparations for His arrival. He never
liked any shortcomings in the sevas. - Pujya
Satyavanji, Sanatan's Devad Ashram.
Pujya Satyavanji's state of mind
Pujya Deshpandeji: What was the state
of your mind, when it was declared that you had become
a Saint?
Pujya Satyavanji: My mind was thoughtless.
Pujya Deshpandeji: What do you feel
about your increased responsibility?
Pujya Satyavanji: I will try. After
all, it is H.H. Dr. Athavale who is getting everything
done.
Pujya Deshpandeji: When all seekers
become Saints, what will you feel?
Pujya Satyavanji: As you have already
said, there will be nothing but bliss everywhere.
Experience before Sri Satyavanji became a Saint
Sri Satyavan Kadam was looking very Divine at the
time of the sacrificial fire held in January 2008.
I experienced how beauty automatically follows when
one is approaching Sainthood. - Ms. Anjali
Gadgil,

H.H. Dr. Athavale's message
I started spiritual practice at the age of forty seven,
whereas Satyavanji became a Saint at the age of forty
four! Satyavanji is the first seeker to remove my
worry how will the next generation of seekers get
Sanatan's Saints?
-
H.H. Dr. Athavale, Founder, Sanatan Sanstha.
Pujya Satyavanji's message
We should always observe whether or not we are reaching
our goal by putting into practice immediately what
H.H. Dr. Athavale tells us; or if we fall short in
our efforts. If you keep before you the goal that 'I should be one of the 100 Saints of Sanatan', you
are sure to become a Saint. - Pujya Satyavanji.

Implied Meaning of some aspects of Ramayan
Our body is the Ayodhya city. The Karma
and destiny are created by the action of mind and
rebirths are a symbol of the fact that the man's behaviour
is controlled by the subtle mental body.
King Dashrath signifies the unbridled rule
of the five subtle sense organs and five subtle motor
organs on the embodied soul.
The three queens are the trigunas (sattva,
raja and tama). In other words, the embodied soul
thinks it is not the form of the Lord, but merely
an embodied soul.
The three queens not having sons: This means
not having achieved the goal of expectation-free state
due to the awareness of form of embodied soul.
The four brothers taking education together:
This signifies doing spiritual practice conducive
for all the four subtle bodies (in us).
The four brothers getting married at the same time:
This denotes beginning of the journey of Shakti
towards the Supreme Soul i.e. getting married to the
Supreme Soul, Shiva.
Sri Ram getting married to Sita: This signifies
that the Primal Maya (the Great Illusion) is
getting activated and has started getting dissolved
in the Supreme Brahman.
Commencement of forest life on the day of coronation:
This signifies being saved from getting stuck in Maya
and commencement of appearance of the Supreme Soul
in Maya.
Forest life for fourteen years: This
means commencement of working towards a goal in the
14 regions of the Universe and gaining full control
over them. This proves that Sri Ram is the Head of
the Universe in true sense of the term.
Meeting with Lord Hanuman:
This symbolises the need for warrior-spirit for attainment
of internal and external goals and the activation
of warrior-spirit.
The army of monkeys:
They refer to the army of humans who take guidance
from God, the invisible, subtle Guru principle and
are able to do and trying to do spiritual practice.
Abduction of Sita: This symbolises the journey from
the gross dimension to a subtle one, while doing spiritual
practice through the gross dimension.
Meeting of Sita-Sri Ram in Lanka:
This is a union of the embodied soul with the Supreme
Soul, or experience of Bliss. The city of Lanka refers
to the Sahasrar centre as per Kundaliniyog.
Ravan is the personification of ego. The six foes
of man or the internal demons mean the six centers
containing the impressions of spiritual practice.
When the six centers are intercepted and ego is destroyed,
the Kundalini energy merges with the Supreme Soul
in Sahasrar centre.
Sri Ram letting go of Sita:
This signifies the complete destruction of the covering
of Maya and being able to see the Supreme Soul
in every object of the world; experiencing expansiveness
and oneness.
